Frese is introducing a Modbus solution for its full range of Frese OPTIMA Compact dynamic valves.
The Frese Modbus system combines a Modbus enabled actuator, ranging from DN10 to DN300, and the new converter box, which can operate two actuators as well as two active sensors for temperature, pressure, humidity, CO2 or any other parameter. This minimises the required cabling of the Modbus daisy-chain, making it ideal for the marine sector where space is an issue.
“We have developed a universal Modbus converter box that connects our dynamic balancing valves with the onboard central management system,” explained Rasmus Frimann Nielsen, product manager for marine and industry at Frese. “Our customers will get all the advantages of our tried and tested product range; easy installation and operation, perfect balance throughout the system, and energy savings – along with increased monitoring options of the Modbus technology.”
All components are built with easy installation in mind. Cabling between converter box, actuator and sensors is made simple with prefabricated cables with standard M8 and M12 connectors, and the converter box can be placed in a convenient location.
The Modbus enabled actuator is resistant to humidity and dust (IP54), and can be installed regardless of direction. Because the system is centred around a converter box, it allows the customer to operate all valve sizes in one Modbus communications protocol, simplifying the digital installation process.
