Singapore-listed Indonesian owner Samudera Shipping Line is expanding its fleet with a liquefied petroleum gas carrier newbuild from Japan.
The company’s Singapore-based tankers unit is paying $26.2m to Global One Energy in Geneva for a 7,500 cu m vessel resale.
The unit is under construction at Japan’s Sasaki Zosen shipyard (pictured) and should be delivered in the second quarter of this year.
The move will see Samudera’s LPG fleet grow to three owned ships, following the addition of 2011-built Sinar Tondano, ex-Linda Kosan, last December.
