Spliethoff Welcomes Cutting-Edge New DP2 Multipurpose Vessel to Its Fleet

Dutch shipping company Spliethoff proudly welcomed its latest fleet addition, the “M.V. BLOEMGRACHT,” on August 11th. This marks the company’s second DP2 multipurpose vessel, expertly crafted by the Fuzhou Mawei shipyard in China.

The DP2 class represents the next generation of offshore supply vessels, standing out in the market due to their remarkable versatility. Certified by Lloyds Register, the DP2 multipurpose ships bear a 1A Finnish/Swedish Ice-Class notation, solidifying their exceptional capabilities.

Weighing 12,500 dwt, the ship boasts an expansive cargo deck space of 2,875 square meters, further enhanced by two tween deck levels, culminating in a total deck space of 5,900 square meters. The cargo intake of these vessels far exceeds that of other offshore supply counterparts.

Additionally, equipped with two Huisman 500 mt Heavy Lift Mast cranes and an advanced automated crane system, these ships are designed for seamless loading and unloading both onshore and offshore, catering to their capacity to accommodate 60 individuals, including the crew.

Prioritizing fuel efficiency, the ship’s design optimizes propulsion and power generation systems, supplemented by scrubbers and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems. The collaborative efforts of Conoship, the ship’s owner, and the shipyard lay the groundwork for the ship’s basic design and concept, resulting in an exceptional maritime marvel.
