ONE targets scope three emissions with European trucking partnership

ONE hopes to cut CO₂ emissions by using Ancotrans’ network for triangulations and reloads across its ports coverage, limiting empty mileage and emissions. Ancotrans is a Danish trucking company with over 950 trucks on container services across Germany, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands.

The trucking company has an existing fleet of EURO VI trucks and is due to deploy its first electric trucks in Germany in July. The companies are working on an optimised operational setup to utilise the electric trucks, they said.

CEO of Ancotrans, Anne Kathrine Steenbjerge, said: “As we lay out our strategy for the next four years, our drive to obtain a broader international presence and to become a greener company remains true. To make that happen, we are focusing more on our people, growth with our customers, and our impact on the planet. One of the areas we want to improve is our operational efficiency to provide a better service to our customers. Our vision is to build a truly European network based on our values and ambition to become 100% CO₂ neutral”.

Johan Pijpers, Manager Inland Operations & Procurement Europe & Africa at ONE’s Sub Regional Headquarters office in Rotterdam adds “ONE continuously strives to implement environmental solutions for our inland transports. Making use of Ancotrans’ services and innovative approach is another example of sustainable services which adds value to our green inland strategy”.
