Every day needs to be “World Oceans Day” – which is the case at the World Ocean Council (WOC) – and is highlighted today by the release of the Report from the Sustainable Ocean Summit 2019.
With the theme of “Investing in Ocean Futures: Finance and Innovation for the Blue Economy”, the 2019 WOC Sustainable Ocean Summit (SOS) represented the most comprehensive gathering of the global ocean business and investment community to focus on finance.
The SOS is the premier annual forum for advancing global industry leadership and collaboration on ocean sustainable development, and the 2019 edition notched historical participation levels, with more than 350 delegates from 30 nationalities gathering in Paris. The SOS 2019 Executive Summary can now be accessed by all ocean stakeholders at this link. The full report will be made available to SOS 2019 participants and sponsors as well as WOC members in mid-June. The full report from the SOS 2018, which convened in Hong Kong with the theme of “Ocean Sustainable Development – Connecting Asia and the World”, is also now available here.
