Geneva Dry partnership stirs cocktail creativity

What would you christen a shipping-related cocktail? Splash posed the question to readers yesterday on the back of news that our new event, Geneva Dry, has an official drink sponsor in the form of LVX Geneva Dry Gin, a local Swiss brand.

Sponsors of the event’s evening cocktail receptions, with one of the night’s still up for grabs, will have a unique marketing opportunity to come up with their own cocktail names.

Seeking inspiration, Splash asked readers via social media for some ideas and the answers poured in.

Blue Yonder, the Sunk and Drunk, the Shipping Booze, High Tide, Sea Legs, the Bow Thruster, Fine to Port, Off Hire, Three Sheets and OpX were some of the nautically themed drinks ideas that came forward, with Splash reserving special praise for James Turner’s Scrubber Discharge and Sal Mercogliano’s Down the Hatch, while also admiring the simplicity of Greg March’s Geneva Dry with a Splash of tonic.

Delegates coming to the global dry bulk summit next May will be able to sample the gin at the event as well as at the evening receptions.

LVX Geneva Dry Gin is made from Swiss grain alcohol and nine high quality botanicals sourced in Switzerland and around the world, asserting itself with floral and spicy notes.

LVX joins a fast growing range of sponsors coming to Geneva Dry including AboutShips, Aderco, Arrow, Braemar, Bureau Veritas, Dualog, Inchcape Shipping Services, Inmarsat, Lauritzen Bulkers, Lila Global, Lloyd’s Register, Pacific Basin Shipping, Propel Marine, RightShip, Rustibus, Sea, Taylor Maritime Investments and Veson Nautical.
